Which version of IE?

 

If it's IE7, you most likely have errors in your code - validate your code on the W3C website, and fix the errors. You will almost always find in this case that your site looks the same in both FF (or whatever) as IE.

 

If it's IE6, that's quite a bit different. It has a much different rendering engine - conditional comments is the most easy way to deal with differences in IE.
