Simple window open

If the following code opens applet.php within the same browser window, how would I change it to open the page in a new window?

Using javascript or html. You need a client side script not server side to create a 'popup' window.

So if I have a form submit that processes the action, would I just add onsubmit or onclick to the form to call the javascript?

I'd use an onsubmit as a form can be cubmitted without hitting the submit button

Ok, I really don't know where to go with this... The form looks like this:

echo "<form action=\"../applet.php\" method=\"post\" name=\"submit\" onsubmit=\"window.open('', '', 'width=450,height=300,status=yes,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes')\">
<INPUT name=\"submit\" type=\"SUBMIT\" value=\"Review\"></form>";

It opens an empty window but it also tries to load the applet.php in original window

Ok I figured it out. Just removed window.open. Added target= and added some basic javascript.

 

Now, it opens the window with my Java applet but the file data is not being sent. Here is the applet.php code

Any thoughts?
