simon551
I created a new xampp installation today and went in and changed the password for the root user at localhost. Now I am locked out of phpmyadmin altogether. I get this message: Error MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. It's not prompting me to login. I'm not sure what I did wrong but I must have messed up somewhere. Any idea? trq
Haven't used phpmyadmin for a long time but theres a config.php file somewhere that stores the username / password that phpmyadmin uses to connect to mysql. wildteen88
Rather than hard code the username/password within config.inc.php change this line within config.inc.php $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config'; To $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'http'; This time phpMyAdmin will prompt you to provide a username/password. This is much more secure. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/170322-solved-xamppphpmyadmin-security-problem/#findComment-898480 Share on other sites
