Rommeo
In my flash drive there is a folder that has a problem. That folder, i can not delete, I can not see the inside even i know that the folder is empty. And when try to enter the folder it gives me an error like : "the file or folder can not be read". How can I delete this folder from my flash drive without formatting it ? corbin
What are the permissions on the folders? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/173470-a-folder-that-can-not-be-deleted/#findComment-914457 Share on other sites
newbtophp
Right Click > Properties. It may be that you don't have administrator privelages on that account. Download this an follow the onscreen instructions http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/173470-a-folder-that-can-not-be-deleted/#findComment-914518 Share on other sites
Lamez
Press F5, if the folder actually exists, it will still be there. Open the command prompt with admin privileges, then delete it that way. (del foldername) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/173470-a-folder-that-can-not-be-deleted/#findComment-914804 Share on other sites
Rommeo
i m on win xp unfortunately.. and it's just a normal folder that you can create by right click>new folder. it's nothing special ( not a protected file or something ). I think the problem is not with malware or virus, it's most probably on the bad sector of the flash disk and that's why it says "the file or folder can not be read". I know that if i format it, i can fix it but since it's capacity is huge, formatting will take too much time. I m looking for a solution without formatting.
