JasonLewis
Take a look at the readfile function, it doesn't return the contents of the file. If you're trying to get the contents of the file, look at file_get_contents. $content = file_get_contents("tips.txt"); echo $content; Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/175486-why-is-that-my-function-readfile-wont-work/#findComment-924696 Share on other sites

If you're trying to get the contents of the file, look at file_get_contents. $content = file_get_contents("tips.txt"); echo $content; Right; it outputs the contents, just as the OP expects. @OP Have you tried to use the full PHP opening tag? Can I only recommend you do. <html> <head> <title>Tip of the day</title> </head> <body> <center> <h1>Tip of the day</h1> <div style = "border-color:green; border-style:groove; border-width:2px"> <?php readfile('tips.txt'); ?> </div> </center> </body> </html> Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/175486-why-is-that-my-function-readfile-wont-work/#findComment-924708 Share on other sites
