MDanz
how do i add on to what already is in the cell in mysql? what i've done below i think will replace what is in the cell.. say i have 'dog' in the cell... i want to add on 'cat'.. in the cell it should say 'dog cat' .... rather than cat replacing dog. <?php mysql_connect("localhost", "Master", "password"); mysql_select_db("db"); $query2= mysql_query("UPDATE Stacks SET keywords='$name' WHERE id=44") or die (mysql_error()); ?> how can i add on to what already is in the keywords column? cags
I believe the syntax would be something like... UPDATE Stacks SET `keywords`=CONCAT(`keywords`, ' ', '$name') WHERE id=44 Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/176328-solved-update-help/#findComment-929362 Share on other sites
