Mr_J
Hi all, Is it possible to hide the address in the address bar of the browser or even better, hide the address bar? Please see this thread... This is where the problem started... http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php/topic,271673.0.html
cags
I highly doubt you can hide the address bar through code. Hiding it on a computer you have control of is one thing (using non-coding methods), but on a computer that visits your site must be impossible. With regards to hiding your url you could run the page in a Frame.
manwhoeatsrats
From my understanding you use to be able to do so if you made a popup window using javascript. I recently had to write a web application for my company's intranet, and was going to use a java pop up. No matter how much I tried to hide the URL, using different commands in java, it did not work. After a lot of research I came accross several sites that stated, the newer web browsers would not allow this functionality due to security reasons...... if this is entirely true, I know not. All I know is I have not been able to do it using javascript.
