binary log temporary disable for a session

We use the MYSQL binary log to help with synchronising database structure changes between our Test / Quality / Productions servers.

We have a program which uses mysqlbinlog to dump the logs to a readable format then it scans through them looking for just database/table structure changes and applies them to the next server.

The problem is that the logs store everything and so have grown big.

I'm currently trying to get all the databases on all the server upto the current data so that the old logs can be purged.

But is there any way that for a PHP connect session the bin log can be turned off so that all the normal data updates aren't logged?
