I recently used this code to try and make it so the page loads as http://www.domain.com/ when you type in http://domain.com

I thought this code would make sense and be a solution, but just loops.

Could anyone explain please.

Thanks in advance..

<?php
$server = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
if ($server == "http://www.domain.com/") {
echo "Hello World";
} else {
header("Location: http://www.domain.com/");
}
?>

Stop being so literal! He meant something like this.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Of course, rewriting both 'example.com's to your domain name, It'll hardwire (the proper way) http://domain.com to 301 to http://www.domain.com preserving the path etc.

Place that in a .htaccess file on your root.
