Your code should validate because it is valid code. haku Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 It won't validate without a doctype. Anyways, as for the best doctype, you should use either an HTML 4.01 or XHTML 1.0 doctype. Within that you have the choice of trasitional or strict - the strict is the better doctype to go with for both HTML and XHTML. But between HTML and XHTML it's a matter of choice.
