To maintain persistence you would store data in session variables. i.e

<?php
// test1.php
session_start();
$_SESSION['abc'] = 'foo';
$_SESSION['def'] = 'bar';
?>

<?php
// test2.php
session_start();
print $_SESSION['abc'];
print $_SESSION['def'];
?>

Thanks
