Can't encode. Is it because 64 bit?

I recently upgraded to windows 7 (64 bit)  with a new machine.

My previous works (on 32 bit) now have problems with PHP gzencode() function.

Browsers can not decode them and display like this:

‹ãââP]ìè

Is this because of 64 bit ??? If so, is there a solution?

I use wamp5, After installing I copied the wamp folder from 32 bit machine and pasted to 64 bit machine to be sure there is nothing I miss because of configuration. But nothing changed. Still having same problem

There may be a wamp5 version specific to 64bit systems. You should concider looking into that. If thats the case some of the settings for wamp5 that worked on a 32 bit system may not work on the 64bit system. The config files may all be the same but some of the associated files with the server, php, etc may not be 64bit compliant. Like the .dll files.
