MouseMuffin Posted January 18, 2010 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I have my own custom forum software Made already. I am just missing one key tool. When a user makes a Topic or a reply to a post, then when another user replies it shows "New Posts" next to that topic. Then when they view it the new Posts goes away. But then if somone makes a new post again it shows New Posts. am I over thinking this procccess or can somone give me a ideal just talk one how to do it? I am not 100% sure how the sessions would be set up though... it would be something that would check the last post time against the last read time. - if it has been read and no new posts, don't show that there are new posts - if it has been read and there are new posts, show that there are new posts - if it hasn't been read and no new posts, don't show that there are new posts - if it hasn't been read and there are new posts show that there are new posts Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
