Sending Mail

Yeah, mail servers are something that really need to be done right or they can cause all sorts of security issues.

 

You can also configure things to work using a remotely hosted mail service like gmail or even your isp usually. Might be a better way to go.

 

You would simply install a package called ssmtp  and configure it accordingly. This will give you a sendmail clone that will forward your mail through a remote smtp server. You cannot accept mail back in this way though.
