Rhetorical questioning

When I've taken the time to think out a good way to ask a question, sometimes I find the answer and those questions become rhetorical. I like it. I assume this happens to many of us.

 

I'm not saying I ask all of my questions in a good way, but most of the time I try to. It shows better respect for those who may help, the answers are usually better, and sometimes I get a better understanding of the problem when writing it out.

 

Just sharing a way this forum has helped me out, even when I didn't actually "submit" a post.

I know that has certainly helped me many a time. Sometimes sitting down and attempting to get things straight enough in your head to formulate a sensible question, is often good enough to solve the problem. I often find it useful explaining my problems to other people, especially if they are not technical people themselves. Often the process of breaking it down into simple easy to understand steps triggers something off in your own mind. I've normally missed something that's relatively obvious/simple.

many times, one does not know the answer because one does not know the question.  IMO learning to ask questions properly will lead you to being able to answer them yourself, yes.
