Say you take Facebook's layout and just make it yellow instead. That would most likely count as copyright infringement.

 

Anyways, why are you asking for legal advice here (even without stating where you are located)? Go ask your lawyer if you want to make sure you don't end up in legal trouble.

I always knew that taking websites templates is wrong.

However, I never knew they could sue you because of copyright reasons?

I thought copyright was only for the content of the said website.

 

There's content copyright and design copyright.
