meburbo
Hi everyone. I'm new to php, and need a little help. My echos aren't printing on my screen for some reason. I've configured Apache correctly, or at least I think so. Originally Firefox was displaying code when I opened my .php files, now it at least displays a blank page. HTML will show, but anything in my <?php ?> tags aren't. Here's my code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Practice</title> </head> <body> <p>Hello.</p> <?php echo "Hello"; ?> </body> </html> .. most of which is generated. Help would be appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/196037-new-to-php/ Share on other sites
inversesoft123
<?php header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1'); header('Content-Language: en');?> Try adding this code on top of your page Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/196037-new-to-php/#findComment-1029685 Share on other sites
sangoku
I doubt that will help, the code is ok, think you could just make a empty php file which has in it: <?php echo "CAN YOU SEEE THIS, if not then your php is not runing or your server is broken...."; ?> Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/196037-new-to-php/#findComment-1029686 Share on other sites
PFMaBiSmAd
What URL are you entering in your browser? What does a 'view source' in your browser show? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/196037-new-to-php/#findComment-1029688 Share on other sites
meburbo
View source shows the code. I'm thinking it's my Apache settings. Know any good sites with setup tutorials so I can just start clean? mattwal
If you don't feel like dealing with fixing apache/mysql you can just uninstall those and install an all in one like wamp server which has everything in one exe program...
