Select data from two tables

Hi guys, I have looked through and cannot find anything to do with this so here goes.

 

I have two tables - post_text and post_image.

 

I just want to select all from both tables, and display them together in one loop.

 

I know roughly how to do this - but I'm finding it hard to display the correct formatting.

 

This is my code for text posts:

while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql) or die(mysql_error()))
{
    echo "{$row['user']} at {$row['datetime']} wrote: <br>" .
         "{$row['content']} <br><br>";
} 

 

But how can I say "if it's a text post do this, and if it's an image post do this..."  sort of thing.
