Encrypting a PHP file for distribution?

Can anyone tell me how this is done? This is a 3rd party Google Visualization Data Source plugin. You can use the file but you can't mod it or know how it works.

Few ways to do it.

 

There is a difference between obstrufication and encryption.

 

Obstrufication means you make the code near impossible to read...this can be done by removing all whitespace, newlines, concatenation, etc.

If you have the patience, you can unravel obstruficated code relatively easy (just time consuming)

 

 

Encryption is a different game all together.

Things to look at (first that comes to mind) woudl be Ioncube for PHP

 

The method to decode it is in the code you see. DO what the code is supposed to do and with patience you will get to the source code.

Yea I understand that. I just wanted to make a small change on how it returned the data.

 

What it does is pretty easy and I could easily write a class for it which I might end up doing because trying to decode this may take too long.
