Query including date?

Hi everybody, I have this mysql query which brings back a download count for all users, i need to input a time scale within it however, to show all photo downloads from the month, does this makes sense?

 

my current query is...

SELECT model_login.id, model_login.firstname, model_login.surname, model_pictures.user_id, model_pictures.user_picture, model_pictures.picture_downloads
FROM model_login, model_pictures
WHERE model_pictures.picture_downloads != 0 AND model_pictures.user_id = model_login.id

You need a new table while will include the pic id and a DATETIME field.  Once someone downloads a pic, you insert an entry into this table.  You can then query this table anytime you want to see pics for a particular period.
