updating a table using MDb2 mysql

im havin trouble updating a query of details into mysql database for a user dat logs in

	$query1 = "UPDATE Doctor (SET HomeAddress = '".$homeaddress."', OfficeAddress = '".$officeaddress."',HomeNumber = '".$hphone."', OfficeNumber = '".$ophone."',
	FaxNumber ='".$fphone."' , MobileNumber = '".$mphone."',Qualifications='".$qualifications."'. University ='".$university."'
	,Year='".$year."', YearAcademicPosition='".$acposition."'
	WHERE Email = '".$user."')";
	$mdb2->exec($query1);

	//$result = $mdb2->query($query);

 

where $user is the session of the user using email as username

i get all data input like $hphone from post form and i can print all after they submit it if valid but it doesnt update the  row in the doctors table for some reason

nvm figured it out

 

but can insert new  values in other columns if some columns are already filled?
