helptar
Let me start with the ultimate goal of this question. I have a script that uploads an image to the folder (large class, no sample code).. It is saved in: (cPanel domains) /home/USER1/public_html/sample.php It saves the images to: /home/USER1/public_html/imgs Which WORKS great! ...But!.. I need it to read a username and save the images to that domains 'imgs' folder. For example: Passed: 'USER2' Save Image To: /home/USER2/public_html/imgs Passed: 'USER3' Save Image To: /home/USER3/public_html/imgs ... Thats a problem because the PHP file when ran doesn't have permissions to write outside its own public_html directory. Is there any Safe and Secure way to do this? .... Okay last resort.. Otherwise, is there a way to set up dir's from into the local /imgs dir to sync or mirror to other domains.. for example: /home/USER1/public_html/imgs/USER2 to sync files with /home/USER2/public_html/imgs and /home/USER1/public_html/imgs/USER3 to sync files with /home/USER3/public_html/imgs Please help! ;-) I will even send you a cookie! Adam
If you're able to access the file system and change permissions, you could chown the directories to the Apache PHP user. That may give you the required write permissions you need.
