Deciding on a Project Name.

This is tough, tougher then I originally thought. For some projects, deciding on a name for when you release it isn't too hard. Some come easy. But for some projects, it's hard to think up a good, and usually, attractive name.

Look at Apache, Google, Microsoft, Sony.. and pretty much anything with a name. Some are easy to see where they got the name from, others not so much.

What I want to know, is peoples personal methods for coming up with ideas and then deciding on a name for a project.

If I don't have a name for a project, I just name the folder what ever it is I'm coding. For example, if I was coding a forum I would call the folder 'forum'. Doesn't mean I'm going to release a forum system called 'Forum' though.

Haha. Nice. But I don't want names in general, surely people have methods that they follow to come up with names. Normally, a good name is a name that pops into your head randomly and it sticks. It can take a while for that to happen though.

I did find this fairly, kind of, not so much helpful tool. That and the Web2.0 generator on the same page, they do okay. Not the best though. You can mix and match words.
