Object Operator Breaks Page

I've run into an odd problem and I'm sure it must be something that I've done wrong.

I have this code embedded on a page:

<?php
$loginform = new Forms();
$loginform->Login();
?>

The problem is that for some reason the object operator (->) is causing the browser to think it is the closing php tag. So instead of getting the info which is returned from the Login function, the only thing that displays is "Login();?>"

Any ideas of what is going on or how to fix this?

It's more likely that the web server isn't going into PHP mode and is just eating everything between the opening "<" and the ">" thinking it's an HTML tag. If you do a "show source" you will see all of your php code which shouldn't happen if PHP is working.

Does your file have a ".php" extension?
