Php session variable inside include file?

If you are using an include() statement with a file system path and not a URL, the code in the included file essentially becomes part of the source code of the main file at the point where it was included and it inherits the variable scope of the main file, including any session variables.

You would need to post your main code showing how you are including the file and the included code showing this problem for anyone to be able to tell you why your code is not working.

Here is the php section for the main page.

<?
Session_start();
$_SESSION['test']='hello world';
require('http://www.domain.com/play.php');
//require('/home/public_html/domain/play.php'); tried the system file path, but the page won't load

Here is the php section for the play.php

<?
session_start();

echo 'testing: '.$_SESSION['test'];
?>
