In the administration panel I am building, I have a form to 'add a deal', in which I need to select the date (from calendar view) that the 'deal' should start on and that selected date should be put into a hidden form field or a disabled textbox or something along those lines. I can handle the insertion into the database into the 'deals' table with a start_date from the date picker.. np.. but when you pull up that calendar, it should show the month, allow you to move ahead to the next month infinately. and have a colored box when a specific date already has an event schedules. as all 'deals' on the website will be full day deals.
