I have this code:

<?php // Connects to your Database
mysql_connect("localhost", "virtu857_splicer", "JMAJMA6497") or die(mysql_error());
mysql_select_db("virtu857_splicers") or die(mysql_error());
//This code runs if the form has been submitted
if (isset($_POST['submit'])) {

// checks if the username is in use
	if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) {
		$_POST['username'] = addslashes($_POST['username']);
	}
$usercheck = $_POST['username'];
$check = mysql_query("SELECT username FROM splicers WHERE username = '$usercheck'")
or die(mysql_error());
$check2 = mysql_num_rows($check);

// if the name exists it gives an error
if ($check2 != 0) {
		die('The character name you have requested is already taken.');
				}

//makes sure that the username isnt too big
if ($_POST['username'] > 18) {
                die('The username you chose is too big.');
                                 }

// this makes sure both passwords entered match
	if ($_POST['pass'] != $_POST['pass2']) {
		die('The passwords did not match.');
	}

	// here we encrypt the password and add slashes if needed
	$_POST['pass'] = md5($_POST['pass']);
	if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) {
		$_POST['pass'] = addslashes($_POST['pass']);
		$_POST['username'] = addslashes($_POST['username']);
			}

// now we insert it into the database
	$insert = "INSERT INTO users (username, password, group, plasmid1, plasmid2, plasmid3)
			VALUES ('".$_POST['username']."', '".$_POST['pass']."', '".$_POST['group']."', '".$_POST['plasmid1']."', '".$_POST['plasmid2']."', '".$_POST['plasmid3']."')";
	$add_member = mysql_query($insert);
echo "You have been registered and now may login.";
?><?php // Connects to your Database

echo "You have been registered and now may login.";
?>

but it gives me this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/virtu857/public_html/splicerscity.co.cc/register_process.php on line 44

Thanks for any help.
