themistral
Hi guys, I'm not very good with javascript and ajax, so I found a free script for my purpose. Basically, when you click on a link, if you are not logged in then an ajax form pops up for you to login. This works fine on Firefox, Chrome and IE6(?!!!) but when I test on IE8, nothing happens when you click the link. I have gone back to the site where I found the script and tested their demo on IE8, and it doesn't work there either. The script I used can be found here http://www.xul.fr/javascript/lightbox-form.html. The site I'm working on isn't accessible to the web yet as it's in development. Thanks in advance for any ideas! themistral
Hi Neil, I've looked at few different ones that do what I want but they all seem to have the same problem. I know IE8 had a lot of changes, but this is ridiculous... JonnoTheDev
I can't see any demo on the page that you posted the link to. The only lightbox / ajax demo I can find on that site is at: http://www.xul.fr/javascript/lightbox-ajax-demo.html This works fine in FF & IE 8 Note: Just found this link. There is no AJAX in this but it woks fine in both IE8 & FF http://www.xul.fr/javascript/lightbox-form-demo.html Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/209876-problem-with-ajax-login-and-ie8/#findComment-1095525 Share on other sites
themistral
Oops, link again without a full stop! http://www.xul.fr/javascript/lightbox-form.html If you go down to the bottom, the link to the demo is there. Or alternatively, it's here! http://www.xul.fr/javascript/lightbox-form-demo.html Thanks Neil. themistral
Bizarre! OK, well thanks for looking for me Neil! Guess it's something to do with my own browser! Cheers again! themistral
Just an update - remembered I'd changed security settings on IE8 to replicate another problem and that's what was causing it. Set the security back to the default and hey presto - it's working! Feel like a right plonker! Thanks again Neil!
