uploading a image from a url

Hello every one this is my first post and i hope some one cna help me.
i am working on a project to do with webcams and images. the images have a set url and i would like save that image to a folder. i have seen a example at http://imageshack.us(when the url option is selected)

does any one know where i can find some tutorials that would help me with this?
