Need some help in background shading

Hi guys,

 

I need some help in CSS background. In the attachment is the effect that I will like to achieve for my background.

 

As you can see in the picture, I do know how to achieve the blue shades, basically I will just define repeat x, and it will be achieve

body {

background: url(../images/bg.png) repeat-x;

}

 

However as the pointed arrow in the picture, you can see that it has a shadow overlay on the white background. How to achieve this effect?
