Highlighting a tablerow when linked to it

I have a bulletin board, each post contains a  th with an a name link in it. below it is a tr td which contains the post. Now i have it if someone links to that post by page/threadnumber#postnumber

 

Then it focus's on that post and brings it to the top of the page. What i want to do though is after it does that i want it to highlight either the th or the tr so that it stands out as the linked to post.

maybe this will make it clear

 

each post has a seperate id

<td id = '1' class = 'content'>
<td id = '2' class = 'content'>

 

The id relates to the post id.

 

i have a function hightlight_reply()

it takes a post id

 

i.e

 

highlight_reply(1)

 

i want highlight reply to look up id 1 and change the background colour.
