Pikachu2000
Couple things. When posting code, please indent it properly, and use the . . . or . . . BBCode tags to contain it. ereg functions are deprecated, and will cease to function in a future release of PHP. At any rate, what do you mean "nothing seems to work"? ultimatum
Your email validation function is GIANT, you can use javascript prior to submitting the form to validate email address entered. It's easy, quick and does not require server side processing. TIP: Break your script up into many pieces and just include_once() function for the parts you need when you need them. logic example: if SUBMIT is pushed check values if values are incorrect include_once("initial_form.html/php"); else move on else include_once("initial_form.html/php"); This will make your code look cleaner and more ogranized, plus easier to follow. Pikachu2000
The problem with using javascript is that javascript is NOT validation. It still needs to be validated server-side.
Colton.Wagner
However you can use AJAX to submit an email to a php script to check the validity of an email. Seen in a script I just wrote here. http://kno3technology.com/apps/price.php All the javascript does is move the data without reloading the page. The javascript then checks for an xml response from the php page specified. Thanks, Colton Wagner
Pikachu2000
Right, but the validation is still performed server-side. Checking things like that solely client-side is nothing more than a convenience to the user to prevent the need to submit, then correct, then submit, then correct, etc.
