I am creating an audio object like this...

  audio = new Audio();

    audio.setAttribute("src", '/lib/audio/'+audio_source+'.mp3');

    audio.setAttribute("src", '/lib/audio/'+audio_source+'.ogg');

This works fine, so how would I delete this object (stop playing the audio). I need to either completely stop the audio and destroy this object, or to stop audio and create a new audio object depending on what a user clicks.

Any help would be appreciated.
