natasha_thomas
Friends, I have reseller's account with Hostgator. I have created 100 Cpanel accounts (One site each Cpanel), as we know, problem with Reseller account is the Limited Server Space. The one that i have has a Limit of 30 GB Only. So technically, 30 GB / 100 = 300 MB Each Site Or Each Cpanel. The content of Each site is cached and put into a Folder (Each site has its own seperate Folder). I have two Solutions to Manage this Situation: Option A: I get a PHP Script in Place, which will be Scheduled to run on Each day of the Week, and it will Clear the Content of (100/7 = 15 Sites) 15 Sites. So technically i am emptying the Cache Folder content of Each site Once in a Week. So i do not cross the 300 MB Limit wchih i have set for each site. Option B: I get a PHP script in place, which will calculate the Size of the Cache folder for each site and when the Size exceeds 300 MB, the Script will get executed to Empty the Cache content. In Option B the Challange is, When to run the Script to check the Space Occupied by the Folder!!! Now over to you all, Which option make more sense for a Reseller Account? OR can you suggest a better Option? trq
I seriously don't see how anyone can be put in charge of a reseller account without server administration experience. That is all I have to say on the matter. ignace
You would run the cron the same, no matter the option. The difference is that with option B you would calculate the size and clear the cache when it exceeds the soft limit: Soft limit: 250 Hard limit: 300 Depending on the number of cache files created per day you would run this every 3 days/week/month Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/222905-small-case-study-to-manage-server-space-on-resellers-account/#findComment-1152902 Share on other sites
