Need advice on how to save to XML files using CKEditor

I want to use CKEditor to read and write its data to XML files

There's plenty of examples showing how the program works - but nothing that saves the data anywhere

 

I'm more than happy to get my hands dirty and code any adjustments myself

BUT, the documentation is very poor (unecessarily)

I'm sure I haven't missed anything

 

Where can I get some sample code that will write to XML files + that I can easily plugin into CKEditor?

 

I've posted question on their forums, but from past experience, I know they're not very reliable

 

Any advice or guidance would be really appreciated
