Does anybody know whether there's European languages where the text "Step 1" (as an example) should formally be written "Step One" (obviously translated though)? I.e. in a written context it's grammatically correct to write the word, instead of the number..? Zyx Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I haven't heard of such a language, but if there exists any, I'd rather say that you should not look at indoeuropean languages. However, in some languages both forms are commonly used. Polish: "Krok pierwszy", "Krok 1" In other, the word order is different.
