vuorela
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.41, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 6.1 Here is the statement that I am trying to get to work: (archived is a boolean, username is char[15]) UPDATE employee SET archived = NOT(archived) WHERE username ="someName" What I am having difficulties is that this command works in phpMyAdmin but not when I run it using php (it is not updated yet no errors are reported) When I change this to: (assuming archived is TRUE) UPDATE employee SET archived = false WHERE username ="someName" the query works in both phpMyAdmin and using php so I believe that the problem lies in NOT(archived) using php? Does anyone have any idea what this problem could be? Thanks Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/227610-mysql-update-problem-with-not/ Share on other sites
fenway
There can't be any difference between a sql query executed via phpmyadmin and via your script.
