At the moment I'm learning OOP programming in PHP but I was surprised at the lack of built-in methods compared to other languages?  In Python you have built-ins such as the __str__ method but in PHP all I've come across are the __autoload, __construct and __destruct.  I am missing some or is that all there is?

Not sure what you're after but

PHP has a number of magic methods in relation to OOP

http://php.net/manual/en/language.oop5.magic.php

PHP also have a few magic (run-time) constants too

http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.constants.predefined.php
