sandman25
I just setup a new installation of Fidora Core 5 on my server, and got everything up and running except mysql.I installed it with yum, but when I try and start it I get an error:/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld start-bash: /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld: No such file or directoryif I simply try mysql startERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)I looked all over for a mysql.sock file and there doesn't seem to one around, in the directory it tried or any other. I read it should be genereated if it is unfound, but that doesn't seem to be happening.Any help on this would be super.Thank youRich Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/24482-mysqlsock-error/ Share on other sites
