themistral
Hi, I'm looking to compare 2 strings in a SQL statement. I have the following data: Id Name 1 Test's name I have previously returned the Name into a php variable but without the apostrophe. I need to compare strings again in mysql but as the php variable has had the apostrophe removed the strings won't match. I need to be able to specify in the sql that the field should ignore apostrophes. I would normally use something like SELECT * FROM table WHERE Name LIKE '$php_variable'; and now I need this SELECT * FROM table WHERE remove_apostrophes(Name) LIKE '$php_variable'; Is there anything I can use in place of remove_apostrophes? Thanks! Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/246368-comparing-two-strings/ Share on other sites
