freelance84
ROOT ZONE DATABASE http://www.iana.org/domains/root Question: If the root zone database is turned off with no notice, what happens? Would a all ISPs suddenly not know which IP addresses to point domain names to? or/ Is the database of domain name to IP address constantly copied to all ISPs accross the world, meaning that if the root zone database switched off suddenly it would not affect the internet as all ISPs have a duplicate copy on their own database? W3 What happens if www.w3.org/ suddenely vanishes? How would the world websites know what doc type to use?
