russco32
First off, I'm totally new to PHP. I need help on a script for a Download Counter. I have 2 programs hosted on a Web Hosting Site who does not have the facility to count the number of downloads for each program. I don't really want to learn PHP so, 1: Is there an Open Source program I can use? 2: Is there someone out there who's prepared to guide me through setting it up? Thanks in anticipation. Muddy_Funster
If you don't want to learn PHP then you are posing in the wrong forum section. As for 3rd party programs, you would need to provide information about what your server is capable of running, as well as how you would be planning to store your download count. russco32
Thanks for the reply. I'm interested to know if anyone downloads the program. Some sort of counter that I can access to tell me how many times it's downloaded from the Web Site would be great. ManiacDan
You're probably not even serving the file through a script. You can just download and use a log file analyzer to show you the apache logs to see how many times each URL has been requested.
