timmah1
I have a dedicated server with GoDaddy. I need to install Alternative PHP Cache (APC), but I do not know enough to do it myself, for fear of screwing the server up. Can anybody show me a step-by-step tutorial on how to install it on my server? Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/258659-alternative-php-cache-apc/ Share on other sites
trq
Your in charge of a dedicated server yet don't know how to install packages? Sounds scary. What distribution is the server running? trq
eww. I don't think contos has a package for that. You'll need to install it via pear. Something like: Make sure you have pear and any dependencies installed. sudo yum install php-pear sudo yum install php-devel sudo yum install httpd-devel Install apc sudo pecl install apc Add the extension to php's configuration echo "extension=apc.so" | sudo tee -a /etc/php.d/apc.ini Restart apache sudo /etc/init.d/httpd start You might want to do a google search for a guide but that should pretty much cover it.
