It takes always long time to upload files like joomla! or magento site through FTP like filezilla which can have more than 10000 files. Is there any faster way to do this? smoseley Posted May 14, 2012 Share Posted May 14, 2012 No, SSH is a protocol for connecting to the server remotely (Secure Shell). You use an SSH client (like putty, if you're on windows, or a Mac terminal if you're on a mac) to connect to your server from your workstation. then you use wget to download the file from command line. Upload the zip'd file to your web server Create a PHP script that uses PHP's zip functions to extract to the directory of your choice http://php.net/manual/en/book.zip.php And if you have CPanel you can use the File Manager to uncompress zip files.
