Hi,

I've a simple form. and want to submit using jquery ajax. it is doing nothing. can anyone help me on this.

My code is :

$(document).ready(function()
{
		$("#askexpfrm").submit(function(){ 
											 $.ajax({   
														url: 'submitAskTheExpert.php',
														type:'POST',
														data:'action=yes&',
														success: function(html)
														{   
															alert('sani');

														}
													});

										});
});
<form action="/"  method="post" id="askexpfrm">
<label>Name:</label><br /><input type="text" class="asktheexpcss" name="txtname" />
</form>

 

it is very simple form. it doesn't showing any alert. doing nothing...

please guide what is wrong in it??

Right off the bat I can see that you are not closing your </script>.

 

Install Firebug for Firefox and you will be able to catch these kinds of errors right away.

 

And you are not including the jQuery library, unless you're just not posting that part of the script.

This thread is more than a year old. Please don't revive it unless you have something important to add.
