What is a good simple and secure membership system?

I am building a site where visitors should be able to make accounts and log in and then be taken to their personalized page.  There is no content sharing between users.  I am looking for a simple secure script that will let users make accounts and then simply redirect them to their personalized on the fly generated page.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
