On My PC - apache_1.3.28-win32-x86-no_src was installed on win98 & it was serving very nicely as service "Apache" - After fromatting C drive, I reinstalled same apache_1.3.28-win32-x86-no_src - with Same Setup file, Apache Server get's installed, but any how Service "Apache is not being installed. it runs only in Console but not as service "Apache"

Surely there is some problem in Win98, but I m unable to get it, any one can help me??????

Thnx for your promt reply, but till I m unable to install Service Apache

While Installing Pack, I Get two options

1.Run as a service for all users - - Recommended

2.Run when started manually, for me only(RL286)

help says that I have to select 1st option for installing is as service Apahce", but even on selecting 1. option it is not installed as service, but it runs nicely if I Start Apache in Console. & I also installed on other PC with Win200, it get installed as service. but on my system it doen't get installed as service. before formatiing C drive it was quite OK. So I m confident problem is some installation of Win98. else u may help me if you find any logic for this. thnx - Kaushikgotecha
