rember241 Posted August 22, 2012 Share Posted August 22, 2012 hello guys, need help please.. i continued working on an existing information system but I came across that the datatype for myDATE is in VARCHAR, I'm having problems now on how will i filter dates, i want to change the datatype of field myDate from VARCHAR to DATE. Pikachu2000 Posted August 22, 2012 Share Posted August 22, 2012 Never alter a field type like that, especially without backing up the data. Create a new field of the proper type, then run an UPDATE query to populate the new field with the properly formatted data from the old field.
