database triggers

Hello, I'm new to MySql so apologies if I don't describe things very well.

 

I have setup an sql script that runs on a daily basis to update a search field in one of the tables.  I would like to change this to work as a trigger, but I'm looking at upating data in the table that triggers the event and the update requires data from another table as well.  Is it possible to do this?

 

This is the script.

 

UPDATE egw_addressbook egw, egw_addressbook_extra extra

SET n_fileas = CONCAT("MC:",extra.contact_value,"  SN:",n_given,"  CO:",org_name," ST:",hex_ac_status," HID:",egw.contact_id)

WHERE egw.contact_id = extra.contact_id AND extra.contact_name="mac_type";

Yes, should be quite possible to do this. Though, I'm not quite certain why you'd want a concatenated field stored in your DB, that's usually a sign of something wrong being done.
