So I would say you could pick any single one in the different categories, and you would get the correct time. DavidAM Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 The reason that the three-character codes were deprecated is because they are not representative of the entire regions that they (supposedly) cover. Even in America, there are some places that do not recognize Daylight Saving Time, and some that use a different offset.
